Digital Portfolio

In the third grade I was awarded a certificate that said I was the king of caring. This award is given to the student that shows the most kindness to others, and that year it was me. These caring attributes became something that defined me as a person and shortly after, being the king of caring was a goal of mine everyday. Later on in life, I got close to God and realized that I can use my strengths to help others, maybe even for a living. For a while I contemplated how to find a career where I could accomplish this, and discovered I was fulfilled most when I worked with kids. I found it extremely rewarding to get the opportunity to teach children great values and skills that will help them become better humans daily, which led to my decision to become a teacher.

My college education started at UCSB, where I pursued a degree in math and Spanish, but later switched to history to better align my new found goals of becoming an educator. Years after finishing school I miraculously found a program called High Tech High Graduate School of Education, that has since joining challenged me in becoming a better person and teacher through obstacles I face with my students. These trials constantly reward me and show me I am exactly where I am supposed to be.
